Supporting Old Age Homes and Differently Abled Children

Our country has over a 100 million senior citizens and close to 3 million disabled kids. A majority of them come from economically disadvantaged groups, and as a result, they are denied the proper care they need. This has caused exacerbated health problems, loss of self esteem as well as made them vulnerable to depression.

Care2Grand is Karna’s Foundation’s new effort to provide the required care to these vulnerable groups by directly supporting old age homes in the cities of Gurgaon and Muzaffarpur and also provide support to differently abled kids. The priority is to end the neglect of these groups in the social order.

Old age homes are provided assistance in the following ways:

  • Clothes and other kinds of daily use items are provided.
  • Medical assistance including free checkups, medicines etc. is ensured.
  • Holistic mental health and psychological support is also delivered through planned activities, counselling sessions as well as spending meaningful time with residents.

Differently abled kids are supported through the following efforts:

  • Rations are provided free of cost to blind students.
  • Provision for adaptive tools such as tape recorders, wheelchairs as well as callipers to improve quality of life and make school easier for kids.
  • Special assistance for vocation training.
  • Financial help for cost of studies as well as healthcare.

Counselling sessions to help students cope up emotionally and psychologically.
